Position Summary:

As the Senior Product Manager (Upstream Systems), you will develop global product strategy for the company’s instruments, software, and connectivity solutions across immunoassay, molecular, and clinical chemistry to support point of care assays. You will translate user needs into system solutions and conduct and manage primary and secondary market research projects, including labeling and advertising.  You will be responsible for analyzing data in order to make strategic recommendations and to provide marketing insight and direction to optimize new product launches.  In addition, you will represent the marketing group on cross-functional teams and will work with product development, production and manufacturing to develop new systems solutions to be launched globally.

Responsibilities: 

Strategic Planning

  • Develop and provide input into the yearly strategic plan for products and company product roadmap to ensure long term business success leveraging market insights and voice of customer
  • Complete the strategic planning tools (market overview, product rationalization, etc.) to ensure data-driven strategic recommendations
  • Identify unmet customer needs and new product/market opportunities by utilizing structured Voice of Customer (VOC) processes 

Steward for new product development core team

  • Represent marketing in new product development core teams and serve as the business lead for new product core team decisions
  • Employ critically thinking to manage product solutions through challenges during new product development stages to prevent scope creep and to drive trade-off discussions
  • Partner with regional commercial marketing teams to drive product launches and regional commercialization plans to ensure growth initiatives
  • Execute qualitative and quantitative VOC activity throughout the planning, development, and on market phases of the product life cycle
  • Analyze and report key metrics with a focus on continuous improvement

 Global Market and portfolio expert

  • Develop a deep understanding of our customers, competitive information, technologies and healthcare trends
  • Serve as global portfolio subject matter expert (SME) providing market information for product design and product launch
  • Drive a user-centric and data-driven approach to solving customer problems globally
  • Create scientific content and regional scientific studies to capture market share
  • Manage global Key Opinion Leader (KOL) activities and scientific advisory boards as needed
  • Participate in key scientific conferences and meetings

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and/or Science (MBA preferred) or equivalent experience; 8-10 years of suitable clinical diagnostic product marketing experience
  • IVD platform product development experience in submitting and obtaining CE-IVD, and/or FDA 510k clearance
  • Strong working knowledge of IVD, design control, relevant regulations
  • Working knowledge of diagnostic clinical workflow for laboratory, point of care testing and outpatient clinical settings and related software systems: LIS, LIS Middleware, Point of Care Data Managers, Electronic Medical Records, Healthcare Information Exchange, healthcare integration standards, healthcare cybersecurity and data privacy standards, and cloud software
  • Demonstrated success in product commercialization
  • Ability to operate in a global matrix environment and to develop relationships and communicate effectively across all functions and within all levels inside and outside the organization (i.e.: distribution partners and customers)
  • Previous experience in engineering, R&D or project development is a plus
