Position Summary:

The Associate Director, Commercial Marketing is responsible for guiding and overseeing the regional marketing strategy and tactical execution for the Americas for assigned products.  They will report to the Senior Director, Global Marketing and will manage the team that will execute the downstream marketing mix (price, promotion, and sales enablement) and support the sales group with necessary information, tools and training to effectively sell and position the products. They will engage with leaders across the organization e.g. product management, branding/communications, sales, supply chain, and services team to ensure commercial excellence and local execution.  They will create demand generation activities working cross-functionally to ensure business revenue goals are achieved.

Responsibilities: 

Regional Marketing Strategy and Execution

  • Align with Senior Director of Marketing to create regional marketing plan, logistics, and execution across all appropriate channels including Point per Click (PPC)/Search Engine Optimization (SEO), social media, digital ads, tradeshows, print, remarketing, webinars, etc
  • Create and oversee team to execute campaigns and nurture programs with a balanced tactical mix to achieve demand generation targets that align with business goals.
  • Develop and report on campaign performance metrics, and execute continuous improvement activities of direct reports

Manage regional marketing and scientific content management

  • Manage the creation of content to reach the right customer at the right time including product literature, product pages, customer slide decks, product guides, and training literature, as needed to achieve revenue and marketing KPI goals
  • Partner with marketing functional leaders to create scientific content and regional scientific studies to ensure seamless brand experience and single company voice

Regional market expertise

  • Serve as the regional expert with a deep data driven understanding of our regional customers, the buyer’s journey, competitive information, and regional market knowledge/healthcare trends
  • Manage team to collect and expand regional market and customer knowledge. Report on market information to marketing functional leaders to improve product design inputs and product launch requirements
  • Support the management of regional Key Opinion Leader (KOL) activities and scientific advisory boards

Sales enablement and support

  • Collaborate with Sales leaders to formulate the appropriate promotional tools for sales and distribution partners. Manage direct reports to execute sales enablement tools
  • Oversee the execution of training and technical support for sales representatives, dealers and/or end users
  • Partner with sales to identify ways to improve quality of leads and support revenue growth

Team management:

  • Ensure budgets and schedules meet business needs/priorities
  • Directly manage a team of commercial market managers and drive team engagement as well as professional development growth
  • Achieve regional marketing metric targets

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Science. MBA and experience in sales and/or clinical laboratory a plus
  • 15 years product/marketing management experience in the diagnostics, devices, or healthcare Industry
  • 10 years experience in the IVD market, preferably across product technologies, market segments and geographies
  • 8 years experience in leading and managing a global marketing/product management team
  • Strong business acumen with understanding of macro-business relationships and how they relate to the customer
  • In-depth knowledge of the Healthcare marketplace
  • Proven leadership abilities in product management, planning and execution of marketing strategies and tactics
  • Experience working with outside advertising and medical education agencies
  • Knowledge of marketing planning and product life cycle management

Travel requirements:

  • Up to 35% of time – both international and domestic
