Job Description

The Director, Global Marketing is responsible for maximizing the market share and adoption of Our Client’s Diagnostics products across multiple sales channels (B-B, B-C, B-D) and multiple sales regions including US, Europe, Canada, Middle East and emerging markets in Latin America and Russia in order to meet or exceed sales and profit budgets. The position has direct responsibility for managing the global Marketing organizations and staff. The Director, Global Marketing will establish and manage a highly effective marketing organization to develop strategies for growth and deliver a global unified brand for the Client.

Product Line focus areas include instruments and reagents for Coagulation, Infectious Disease, Rapid Testing, Instrumentation and Clinical Chemistry. Responsible for all Global Marketing functions.

Reports to the SVP & GM, IVD Business Unit. Position is based in Burlington, MA.

Responsibilities:

May perform some or all of the following:

 

  • Define, implement and maintain a marketing organization structure that will most effectively support our customers and products, including identification of new positions and/or headcount
  • Global product responsibility, including brand and product marketing strategy
  • Develop and implement product line growth strategies to achieve revenue and margin growth targets
  • Establishment of the strategies for transition from a reagent-only supplier to an instrument systems and reagent supplier of Clinical Diagnostic products
  • Development of the Sekisui Diagnostics company and product brand strategy to present Sekisui Diagnostics as one unified global company
  • Work with other key members of the Management Team to develop new products, pricing strategies, sales and marketing plans and promotional programs in order to achieve short and long term revenue and margin budgets
  • Manage the marketing budget to ensure cost-effective operations
  • Communicate goals, objectives, accountabilities, priorities, and authority parameters to assigned staff
  • Identifies applicable industry tradeshows and customer meetings and identifies appropriate attendees
  • Manage both the strategic creation and tactical execution of profitable marketing campaigns; establishment and use of metrics to measure effect of spending on product revenues
  • Disciplined use of metrics for the measurement of global promotional effectiveness
  • Ensure that product pricing strategies deployed by Sekisui Diagnostics are aligned to the key markets served; provide timely and accurate analysis of data; track performance to plan, altering tactics as necessary to achieve financial results
  • Prepare and implement products life cycle management strategies in conjunction with the Commercial and Manufacturing teams
  • Refines marketing processes to ensure continuous improvement of efficiency within the Marketing group
  • Interface with Sales and Commercial Services, and R&D organizations as appropriate

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 10 years of experience in a global marketing leadership role.
  • MBA is preferred
  • Must have demonstrated business acumen, capable of understanding macro-business relationships and how they relate to the individual customer
  • Must have prior experience in leading and managing a marketing organization
  • Experience working with outside advertising and medical education agencies, In-depth understanding of marketing planning – life cycles and life cycle planning
  • Experience in commercial roles within the medical/surgical distribution and/or IVD industry
  • Experience in selling and supporting instrumentation
  • Experience in International markets

Skills / Pre-requisites:

  • Proven leadership abilities in product management, planning and execution of marketing strategies and tactics
  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of the Healthcare marketplace
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions with occasional consultation from supervisors
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Must be organized with strong analytical skills
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Demonstrates excellent leadership skills and professionalism
